AUDITIONS FOR "ORIGINAL SIN"
1/16- 6-9 PM
1/17 - 6-9PM
CALLBACKS BY APPOINTMENT ON THURSDAY, 1/18
Sign up sheets are posted in the FAC!
A quick synopsis:
Original Sin arises from the ways in which mythology has addressed the journey of a female/femme hero. How she rises to meet the trials of her journey, and the attitude with which her actions are received by the environment surrounding her all impact the true narrative of her experience. This play is about Eve, Niobe, Demeter, Persephone, Queen Isis, Athena, Hera, and Ganymede, and what it truly means to be each of them. These are all women’s stories that have been told to us since their inception by men. It is time for the women to take them back, and we are taking them back using slam poetry and theatre as an installation work.
Please Prepare: A one minute monologue, contemporary or classic
-About one minute’s worth of a selection of poetry of the actor’s choice: Share your favorite poem/stanza with us! This piece is all about power of poetry and women/femmes, so we want to see which poems matter to you. Bring in a copy.
-Headshot/Resume optional, but appreciated.
-Sides will be provided at the audition/callback for cold reads.
