Binary Theatre Company is an organization that acts as a channel for the Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts to
further its mission. The Binary Theatre Company is an association that does not restrict students to their individual
crafts, but rather encourages students to combine their different artistic knowledge into one channel. Binary Theatre
Company believes that a unification of architecture, dance, music, media and engineering, art, and film all under the
umbrella of performance art will satisfy the necessity for the explorative and innovative program that ASU strives to
create. Binary advocates creativity, by challenging all departments within HIDA to unite successfully through theatre;
community, by outsourcing for the first time to other art mediums in the creation of theatre; collaboration, by fusing the
specific genres of art into one complex entity; and collegiality, by being an organization for all of HIDA to discover new
things about art, society, and culture.
